A birth doula is there to ‘mother the mother’, provide families with emotional, physical, and informational support through pregnancy and birth. Becoming a part of your birth team allows you to have the birth experience that you desire.
The transition of welcoming a new baby(s) into your family can be both physically and mentally draining, especially due to sleep deprivation and uncertainty about the care of your newborn. A postpartum doula is a wealth of information on infant care, and bonding, basic breastfeeding and baby bathing, swaddling and baby wearing. Assisting with basic household duties, this allows the parents to have an extra set of professionally trained helping hands!

Born and raised in Detroit, MI with my parents and four siblings I was the oldest of five. I am a crafty, party-planning mom who wears many hats. I took this journey as a Doula for many reasons. To support black women from the birth injustices that are still going on and to prevent as much trauma in birth and after as possible. Giving babies a great start in life is a plan I want to be a part of. And I do that when I support families. ​​

I am a DONA Certified Full Spectrum Doula, LCE (Lactation Counselor Educator), and Public Health Educator.​
​
Currently living in the metro Detroit area and proud to serve my community. I am loving life with my two miracle births, a daughter and son, an amazing husband of 20 plus years and , and 3 fur babies (2 cats and 1 Big Puppy).
